A Leeds United youngster is eligible to play for England and Scotland.
Two Leeds United academy products are set to commit their international future to England - much to the annoyance of a genuine Elland Road legend.
The Gray name has become synonymous with the Whites for over 60 years with Eddie Gray setting the tone for what was to follow when he joined the club as a teenager in 1965. After winning multiple honours, the winger has firmly established himself as one of the most-admired figures within the club’s history and he has been followed by several members of his family in the decades that have followed.
Younger brother Frank was a First Division title winner with the Whites and also helped Don Revie’s side reach the Cup Winners Cup and European Cup finals before departing for Nottingham Forest. Frank’s son Andy played for the Whites during the 1990s and his son Archie became one of the most highly-rated youngsters to progress through the club’s academy setup in recent seasons and made a move to Tottenham Hotspur after being named as Championship young player of the season in 2024. His younger brother Harry penned his first professional deal at Elland Road last year and is expected to break into the first-team setup on a regular basis after returning from a loan spell with League One club Rotherham United.
Archie and Harry are both eligible to follow in the footsteps of their Grandfather, Father and Uncle and represent Scotland at international level - but Whites legend Eddie believes both players will opt to represent England and admitted he ‘doesn’t like it’.
Very outspoken

Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Gray said: “I think, Archie, if he’s good enough and he progresses in his career, I think he’ll probably stick to England. I don’t like it, but I think he’ll probably do it. He has represented England at all ages as a schoolboy. Scotland made enquiries about what he wants to do, but he was born in England, he’s English.
“His younger brother (Harry), he’s very outspoken. When he was younger he used to say ‘I’m going to play for Scotland’ but I think if he’s good enough he’ll play for England as well. Their grandad, my brother (Frank) played for Scotland. Andrew, their dad, played for Scotland as well. It’s a big tradition in the family. If they’re growing up in England, playing for English clubs, I think it just follows that they'll end up playing for England. Archie’s played for the underage sides for England, if Harry progresses how it looks as if he’ll progress, he’ll end up playing for the English sides as well. We’ll wait and see.”
