Salisbury widened their gap from the relegation zone thanks to a last-minute winner in the Wiltshire derby from skipper Dominic Revan when it mattered most.
After a couple of great results for the visitors, the Whites faced a Chippenham side experiencing their best vein of form all season and eager to cause another upset.
Brian Dutton’s side walked out of the tunnel to an array of fireworks that set the tone for the evening, with the hosts getting off to an explosive start.

Forward Odokonyero had the opening chance of the game in the 5th minute with a strike inside the Bluebirds' box.
The Whites held a landslide of possession in the opening 45, moving the ball between both flanks in an attempt to fashion chances on goal from all angles.
There were two changes to the starting eleven from Saturday’s fixture, including young midfielder Jolliffe, who was given an opportunity after not playing since Dorking away.
Jolliffe set the tempo early on, delivering crunching challenges and bundles of energy, which were received well by the Whites faithful.
Aside from a couple of counter-attacking opportunities, the visitors' chances were kept to a minimum heading into the break.
After the interval, the hosts started as they meant to go on, aiming not to repeat the slow start to the second half against Chesham on Saturday.
Mere seconds passed in the second-half before Noah Coppin attempted to direct a glancing header in the box, but it landed safely into the goalkeeper's hands.
Perhaps the most audacious strike of the evening came from fan-favourite Mo Dabre at the hour mark after he picked the ball up from around 25-yards out, curling an effort into the top left-hand corner which stung the gloves of the opposition keeper.
Despite the dominance sustained by the hosts, Chippenham stayed compact and made clear-cut chances, frustrating to find at the Ray Mac.
The visitors had to resort to sporadic counter-attacks in the second half, but the Whites' defence remained switched-on in order to keep the scores level.

But after two substitutions and what was shaping up to be a frustrating two points dropped, Salisbury won a corner in additional time in one last push to get the winning goal.
The corner was whipped in with precision by Ollie Morgan into the danger zone, where skipper Dom Revan stroked a volley home with his side-foot to secure all three points in the 92nd minute.
The Whites will now look to take this performance away from the Mac, ahead of a fixture against Chelmsford in Essex on Saturday.
There were 1730 supporters through the gate to watch the game, marking a record ever mid-week attendance.
Toby Pike, Commercial and Executive Operations Officer, said: "I am over the moon with how last night played out. A record-breaking midweek attendance of 1730 just shows you how far we have come under this new ownership already.
"Credit to everyone involved, a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes to ensure we can progress as a club. I am delighted with the influx of families and primary school-aged children who came to watch last night. Credit must also go to the management team and the players; they put in a first-class display for the substantial turnout."
