Supercomputer makes Everton vs Man United prediction

Everton welcome Manchester United to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday evening.

The Toffees beat Man United 1-0 in the reverse fixture, so they have the chance to do the double over them.

Everton vs Man United stat.

A win for David Moyes’ side would lift them up to 40 points, which would be the quickest time they’ve reached that total since 2017.

Everton are up against a Man United side who have been rejuvenated under Michael Carrick, so it’ll be a tough game.

With that said, Opta’s supercomputer has made its prediction, and the home side are the narrow favourites.

According to Opta’s data, the Toffees have a 37.1% chance of claiming three points, whilst the visitors have been given a 36.6% likelihood of victory.

A draw is 26.3% likely, so the software is struggling to pick an outcome in this one, and that’s certainly reflective of the type of game it is.

Both teams have been really inconsistent this term, and eight points separate them in the Premier League table.

Everton sit eighth at the moment and United are in the top four after winning four games on the bounce before drawing to West Ham United last time out.

Everton must end home form woes vs Man United

There is a bit of pressure on Everton to beat United, as Moyes’ side have been so poor at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season.

The Toffees haven’t won in nine straight home games and their last clash there ended in a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall believes Everton just need to be more aggressive to lift the fans and the atmosphere.

Speaking last month, he said: “We don’t need to be playing silky football or completely dominating teams, it’s being in people’s faces, getting aggressive, getting the crowd up and then playing football and showing what we’re about.

“So, yes, I think if we start doing that more in the next couple of home games, we’re going to pick up better results.”
