Manchester United could get two players back before their next game against Everton.
Manchester United are on somewhat of a break at the moment, as they didn’t have an FA Cup fixture over the weekend, so have had plenty of time to prepare for their next game against Everton on Monday night.
They come off a 1-1 draw against West Ham, which brought a streak of four wins in a row to an end, but did leave the Red Devils fourth in the Premier League table, just five points off Aston Villa in third place.
Heading into their next game against Everton, United will hope to keep their impressive form under Carrick going, but it won’t be easy, as David Moyes’ side is just eight points off Man United in eighth place.
Man United injury news and expected return dates
Firstly, Mason Mount is hoping to make a return against Everton, as he has missed the past few games with a minor injury. It hasn’t been confirmed as to what Mount’s specific issue is, but he missed the West Ham game, and he also missed the Tottenham and Fulham wins.
In his most recent update, Carrick said that he should be ready for the Everton match on Monday night at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. He said, “Definitely going into the Everton game, he'll be back.”
He is currently being assessed ahead of the Everton match by the United training staff and is expected to be available for selection.

Centre-back Matthijs De Ligt has been out since early December with a lower back injury, which has become more serious than it was initially feared. De Ligt has been a huge loss, but he is getting closer to making a return, with a potential return against Everton.
He is also being assessed, and Carrick said there is a chance he could return against the Toffees, although he is behind Mount in terms of recovery progress at the moment. The United boss said: “Matta (De Ligt)... the Everton game feels like a long time away at the moment, so we'll see how he develops, but he's positive. He's moving in the right direction, but Mason's a little bit closer than him.”

Danish international Patrick Dorgu suffered a very unfortunate hamstring injury during Man United’s win against Arsenal in late December. It was really frustrating for Michael Carrick, who had been able to unlock Dorgu’s talents by playing him as more of an attacking winger.
He is set to return next month, with the hope that he can be back for the run-in, as United try to battle for Champions League football and a top-four spot in the Premier League. Carrick’s latest update on Dorgu was when he first suffered his injury in January, so it is not clear how his recovery is going as things stand.
