According to TEAMtalk, Union Saint-Gilloise forward Promise David has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting young strikers, with West Ham understood to be pushing hard to get ahead of a crowded field of suitors.
Sources confirm that Newcastle, Leeds, Sunderland, and Brighton have all monitored the 6’4” forward closely this season, impressed by both his output and unconventional development path.
However, West Ham have reportedly taken the most tangible steps so far, holding “initial talks” with the player. David, though, is hesitant to leave Champions League football for a side still battling relegation.
Interest from the Hammers remains, and TEAMtalk reports they plan to return for him if they secure Premier League survival, seeing David as a high-potential asset for their attacking rebuild.
David Lives Up to the Hype
David has quickly become one of Europe’s most talked-about young forwards.
Scouts have described the towering striker as “incredible,” with many dubbing him the “Baby Lukaku” thanks to his blend of power, aerial dominance, and finishing ability.
Since moving to Belgium, he has consistently exceeded expectations. After a debut season haul of 24 goals, he has followed up with another 15 this term, performances that have cemented his reputation and accelerated his international rise.
David is set to feature in Jesse Marsch’s Canada squad for the upcoming World Cup — where if he can keep up his domestic form, his stock will surely only rise.
