Leeds United’s ambitions in the Premier League will take a huge jump forward with survival this season under Daniel Farke.
Returning to the Premier League, the immediate goal for Leeds and the 49ers is avoiding returning back to the EFL.
Beyond that, the ambition is clear: re-establish United as one of the more powerful clubs in the country once again.
49ers owner Jed York outlines Leeds United ambition as Elland Road plans materialise
A key objective to realise this club’s potential is enhancing Elland Road with an expansion. That expansion is set to commence from the end of this season to drastically increase the capacity of both the West Stand and North Stand by 2030.

Planning permission has approved for Leeds to get spades in the ground as soon as possible. It sees the 49ers making tangible progress on their long-term project to restore our stature as a club.
49ers owner Jed York believes fulfilling Elland Road’s potential is a key to the club moving forward as one of the powerhouses in England.
“There’s nothing like Elland Road. Leeds to me is one of the biggest brands in all of sports. And, our goal was to make sure we put Leeds back on the map and where they belong,” York recently told talkSPORT. “Part of the process is making sure we keep the essence of Elland Road intact, and make it bigger and better. And truly for us, to stay in the Premier League for the foreseeable future.
“It’s not about the financial boost. It’s about making sure that a prominent team like Leeds United is where they belong. That is always the goal, the goal for us is always to win, whatever sports team we are involved in, it is always to win. Leeds is on the right track. Hopefully, we keep it rolling, and we see everything back where it belongs.”
Jed York vows to invest heavily at Leeds United this summer amid £262million reveal
Leeds have been projected to bring in a revenue total of £262million during this first season back in the Premier League. From there, that sum is expected to grow further with more stability in the top flight.
As a result, it should allow Leeds to have another ambitious summer window. Of course, dependent on staying in the division come May. York believes that there’s a lot of investment coming Leeds’ way once the season concludes.
“There’s always investment for Leeds, and there will definitely be more,” York finished.
Leeds United could leapfrog multiple Premier League clubs soon with added investment and new Squad Cost Ratio rules
The aim is to get Leeds back to the summit of the English ladder. The 49ers have some work to do in order to get there, but they’ve made a strong start.
From this summer, Squad Cost Ratio rules being implemented might have a significant bearing on how clubs act in the transfer market. But for Leeds, the potential revenue spike we could get from consolidating would be huge in that regard.
Add to that some shrewd spending since promotion, and there’s no reason why Leeds can’t kick on and leapfrog some top-flight mainstays.
