A 49ers supremo has made exciting statements over Rangers and Leeds United - as one key element proves a common ground.
Jed York is the principal owner and chief executive officer of the NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers. Its enterprise wing, 49ers Enterprises, owns both the Premiership title chasers and English Premier League clubs, having taken charge at Ibrox last summer alongside US health insurance tycoon Andrew Cavenagh.
Key 49ers figure. Paraag Marathe. operates as both chairman of Leeds United and vice-chair at Rangers. York secured the Super Bowl and World Cup football at their Levi's Stadium for 2026 and Leeds United’s Elland Road will also be developed, with hopes of more financial investment into the club.

York has also revealed his Rangers affinity after watching an Old Firm clash earlier this season, as the club strive for first place glory come May. One key strand will follow both clubs and this is the desire to win. York told talkSPORT: "Leeds, to me, is one of the biggest brands in all of sports, and that was our goal is to make sure we put Leeds back on the map and where they belong.
“And that's just part of the process is making sure we keep the the essence of Elland Road intact and make sure we make it bigger, better, and and truly for us to hear to be able to stay in the Premier League for for the for the foreseeable future.
"It's about making sure that a prominent team like Leeds United is where they belong and that's always a goal. The goal is always to win. Whatever sports team we're involved with, it's always to win. And Leeds is on the right track. Hopefully we keep it rolling and and hopefully we see everything back where it belongs, staying in the Premier League.

"Maybe some investment in the summer to push beyond that then as well. There's there's always investment for Leeds and there will definitely be more. I was at my first Old Firm match earlier this season for a draw, but it was a truly special experience and watching Rangers get back up and and trying to fight and compete and hold their own, it has been special. We are hoping that we have a lot more success."
On bringing the Super Bowl contested between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots to San Francisco, ahead of matches at the World Cup this summer, York added: "I mean to be able to host two super the Super Bowl and the World Cup in the same year is just a phenomenal phenomenal feat and something I don't think will ever be done again.
"And to be able to have the best athletic competitions here is going to be great. I can't wait for World Cup. It's going to be a blast. Get on out to the Bay Area this summer, it's going to be great."
