Ally McCoist has been impressed by the in-form West Ham forward in recent weeks.

West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville has been hailed as ‘tremendous’ by former Scotland star Ally McCoist as his purple patch continues in 2026.

The Hammers had been looking for a player to inspire the side into form all season and the former Leeds United forward has stepped up to the plate in recent weeks. Summerville has six goals and two assists to his name since the turn of the year in a head-turning hot streak.

West Ham brought Summerville to the London Stadium from Elland Road in the summer of 2024, after the player had won the Championship Player of the Year accolade. During the 2023/24 campaign, the winger had plundered 21 goals and 10 assists across all competitions for the Whites.

Spurs linked with £25 million move for ‘tremendous’ West Ham man

The Hammers have had to wait a long time to see those numbers, but are starting to see the player’s potential. talkSPORT had claimed that Tottenham Hotspur were even looking at a January transfer move for the £25 million man after he had found his shooting boots.

Having been nominated for January’s Premier League Player of the Month Award, talkSPORT pundits Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist praised the West Ham man. Brazil said: “I was surprised when he went to West Ham, but he’s lightning at the moment. He’s been brilliant.”

McCoist added: “They look tighter defensively, but for me, it’s the wide areas. Summerville has been tremendous, and he’s a different class.”

Summerville wasn’t named in the starting XI to take on Burton Albion at the weekend but came off the bench to find the winner when called upon by Nuno Espirito Santo. Speaking after the match, Burton Albion boss Gary Bowyer joked: “I thought it was poor management from Nuno not sending him away with Jarrod Bowen to be honest. He’s a wonderful player and we’d shown the boys what he’s capable of doing and he did exactly that. He’s a talented footballer.”
