Eyecatching wing work and a breathtaking turn of speed has announced Crysencio Summerville’s return to full fitness and form to match and he’s certainly been catching the eye of many club suitors – along with two international sides vying for his affections.
Of dual nationality, West Ham’s speedster is eligible to represent both Suriname and Holland and it seems the Dutch are agonising about being slow off the mark to cement his place in their international senior side.
Despite him playing for just about every Netherlands age group team, it is apparent Suriname are out to poach him.

“He’s a player who’s doing fantastically at West Ham; he scores goals like crazy. Koeman has to look at that, and you shouldn’t just let him go,” he said. [Fellow Journalist] Kapteijns, though, believes it may be too late for any effort.
“It will be too late; he’s already made his choice for Suriname,” he added.

Having last played for the Netherlands at u21 level five years ago, on first impression you’d expect Summerville to pick the Dutch option: However there may well be resentment at having been ‘ignored’ for years and the Suriname option is an intriguing one.
It will be fascinating watching developments for West Ham’s gem over the coming weeks when squads are announced ahead of the March International friendlies.
