West Ham United’s Łukasz Fabiański has revealed an approach from Everton last summer.
The West Ham goalkeeper has given an interview to WP SportoweFakty to discuss several topics, including Everton.
He joined West Ham from Swansea City and left them as a free agent at the end of last season. Fabiański was without a club until returning to the London side in September 2025.
David Moyes had clear plan for Fabiański
Prior to his return to West Ham, the Toffees made an attempt to add him to David Moyes’ squad.
The Merseyside club’s manager knows the Pole first hand from his time at West Ham. He played 153 matches, keeping 39 clean sheets under Moyes.
Jordan Pickford is first-choice goalkeeper for the Toffees, Fabiański would have been back up.
Everton made offer to sign West Ham man
WP SportoweFakty asked the Pole whether he was close to retiring last summer, after West Ham released him.
He revealed Everton’s offer and that his former club Legia Warsaw tried to sign him. Last year, Sport Witness covered Polish clubs dismissing the latter as an option for Fabiański.
“I had several offers, from Everton for a second-choice goalkeeper, and there was an enquiry from Legia, and I had various conversations,” he said.
“However, my family and I decided we didn’t want to move. I remember a conversation last season with my family and people at West Ham. I assumed I’d play one more season and then say goodbye. Last summer changed my mind somewhat.”
The stopper hasn’t made an appearance for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side this season and has been on the sidelines with an injury since September.
His contract expires at the end of this season and when asked whether he has held talks with West Ham over an extension, Fabiański explained: “We have different priorities now. January was very busy for us in terms of transfer activity. We have to wait until the very end of the season, then we’ll have a better idea of where we’re going.”
