Arsenal have assembled a squad with the intention to compete on all fronts this season, but the club will already be strategising for the summer transfer window.

The Gunners will be recruiting from a position of power as gaffer Mikel Arteta aims to steer the team towards silverware this term. Arsenal continue to lead the Premier League and their attention now shifts to the north London derby on Sunday.

They will approach their rivals with caution in new boss Igor Tudor's inaugural match as Spurs aim to disrupt their title aspirations. Here, Daily Star Sport examines some of the latest headlines surrounding the club.

Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has reportedly clarified his transfer preference. The ex-Manchester City ace was rumoured to be considering a move to Arsenal last month and is reportedly valued at approximately £87million, reports the Mirror.

The Gunners are believed to be one of several Premier League clubs keen on the 26-year-old, alongside Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, Spanish publication Sport claim Alvarez would favour a switch to Barcelona if he were to depart Diego Simeone's outfit. Despite attention from English sides, it is suggested that the forward would prefer to remain in Spain.
