Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has revealed he had an approach from Everton last summer.
The Polish stopper is currently on the books at West Ham United, whom he left only to return a couple of months later.
He was brought back after Wes Foderingham left the club to join Cypriot side Aris Limassol.

He’s third-choice for the Hammers and has not yet played this term, and likely won’t play while Alphonse Areola and Mads Hermansen are ahead of him.
In a parallel universe though, Fabianski may have been a part of Everton’s squad this season, with the veteran revealing he did receive an approach from the Toffees.
Everton approached Lukasz Fabianski
Fabianski has conducted an interview with Polish publication Sportowefakty, and said that after he was let go by West Ham, Everton made contact with him about a free move.
When asked if he came close to ending his career, he said: “I had several offers, from Everton for the second goalkeeper, there was an inquiry from Legia (Warsaw), I had various conversations.

“I remember talking to my family and people from West Ham during the previous season.
“I assumed then that I would play one more season and I would rather say goodbye. Last summer changed my thinking a bit.
Of course in the end, Everton actually signed two goalkeeper for the number two and three positions, bringing in Mark Travers from Bournemouth and Tom King from Wolves for a nominal fee.
King has yet to play for Everton this season, with Jordan Pickford playing all Premier League games and in the Carabao Cup, with Mark Travers playing the two FA Cup matches.
Fabianski was a trusted player for David Moyes
It is perhaps no surprise that Everton looked at bringing Fabianski in last summer given the player’s connection with David Moyes.
Moyes obviously knows him very well after being at West Ham himself – and Fabianski was a regular pick for the Scot, especially from 2020 to 2023.

He made 153 appearances under Moyes, and the manager often praised the stopper. He gave him a particularly nice compliment back in 2021 when he said (via Irish Independent): “There’s not a club in the country that doesn’t need a top goalkeeper, and we’re lucky that we have got one.”
It seemingly wasn’t to be for the pair to reunite last summer, but Everton still have decent back-ups to Pickford.
