Sam Allardyce has predicted who will be relegated from the Premier League.
Sam Allardyce has locked in a new relegation prediction as his former club West Ham battle for safety going into the last quarter of the season, The Iron were on the verge of dropping off completely just a few weeks ago, but new signings have brought a fresh energy to Nuno Espirito’s squad, and 10 points from the last 15 have ensured there will be a relegation battle.
The Iron’s recent form has had a big impact on their rivals, who will once have believed they were well on their way to safety. In the last couple of weeks, both Forest and Tottenham have sacked their managers, with Sean Dyche and Thomas Frank both having been replaced.
West Ham, meanwhile, have been enjoying steady form, although they have lost new signing Pablo Felipe, who has been impressing with his energetic offerings in the front line, to a six week or so injury.
The Iron now have a tough run of fixtures, and how they hold up in those games could play a key role in how the relegation battle shapes up going into the final handful of games.
But according to Allardyce, West Ham have every chance of beating the drop, with a managerial sacking causing him to re-evaluate his prediction.
“I would have said a couple of weeks ago, West Ham,” he said on his No Tippy Tappy Football podcast. “But not now. So I say, with a change of manager now, Forest.”
West Ham face Bournemouth in a tough-looking game this weekend, and they then head to Anfield to take on Liverpool. They then have an away game with Fulham, a home clash with Manchester City and an away date with Aston Villa. The Iron are going to have to pick up some surprise results to stay in the fight over that span.
