West Ham tipped to lead Premier League chase for Union Saint-Gilloise striker despite January hesitation.
West Ham have once again been linked with Promise David, with TeamTalk today claiming the Hammers are positioning themselves at the front of a growing Premier League queue for the Union Saint-Gilloise forward.
But from our side, this one comes with a raised eyebrow.
Claret & Hugh spoke directly to a source close to the player back in December, when there was a genuine opportunity for West Ham United to move. At that point, a deal was very much on the table — yet West Ham ultimately chose not to proceed.
Which makes this latest report linking us again with Promise David feel more recycled than revelatory.

That doesn’t mean circumstances can’t change, especially with the Hammers scrapping for survival and planning for two possible futures. But it does cast doubt over claims that we’re suddenly leading the race.
Claret & Hugh have now re-contacted David’s representatives to establish whether there’s any substance behind this renewed speculation — or whether this is simply another case of recycled old news.
We’ll update as soon as we hear back.
