It’s back to Premier League action for Liverpool this weekend as they look to build on a morale-boosting 3-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup fourth round. The Reds travel to take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Arne Slot’s team go into the game in sixth place in the Premier League table, but are just three points behind Manchester United in fourth position and two points behind Chelsea in fifth, in the Champions League race.
In a boost for Liverpool, defender Joe Gomez has made substitute appearances in the last two games, with Slot now confirming that he is ready to start. The availability of the England international will add to the side’s defensive options.
There have, however, been other players ruled out of the game, with updates given of Jeremie Frimpong, Wataru Endo and Alexander Isak. With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest from the Anfield treatment room.
Alexander Isak
Injury: Ankle/leg
The striker has been out of action since December and has since undergone surgery on an ankle injury and fibula fracture.
What Slot has said: “Alex, I think he has been on the pitch now, not with his football shoes but with his running shoes, for the first time this week, so that will still take a while as well before he is ready to play for us again.”
Potential return date: April
