Director Leaves West Ham to Join Football Regulator

Former West Ham Executive Director Tara Warren has been appointed to the new board of the football regulator.

In an announcement today the [Secretary of State](https://www.gov.uk/government/news/five-non-executive-directors-appointed-to-the-independent-football-regulator) appointed Mark McCafferty, Kevin Miles OBE, Justine Roberts CBE, Tara Warren and Dr Linda Yueh CBE as Non-Executive Directors to the Independent Football Regulator for a term of 5 years from 18 February 2026 to 17 February 2031.

Non-Executive Directors of the Independent Football Regulator are remunerated at £20,800 per annum for a time commitment of one day a week.

Tara stepped down on her own terms at the end of last year after 17 years at the club believing it was the right time to try something else.

She was approached by many large football clubs to have a similar director role, but she turned them down to apply for the football regulator role.

Tara has served on numerous [Premier League](https://www.claretandhugh.info/premier-league-bio/) and Women’s Super League Board subcommittees and was part of the CEO Working Group that advised on the formation of ‘NewCo’ to manage the top-flights of women’s club football in England, now WSL football. She began her career at Morgan Stanley and has held senior commercial positions with organisations including IAACG and Savills.

Tara is also a Non-Executive director at the British Horse Racing Authority, leading the development of industry strategy during a period of during a pivotal era of transformation for the sport.
