Leeds United boss speaks on January transfer window
This left the Whites with just one arrival in the whole of January. Facundo Buonanotte’s career could not have gotten off to a worse start; he has been limited to cameos off the bench, until the FA Cup game against Birmingham City. The midfielder was poor on that day, and was hooked in the first half. Daniel Farke has touched on the 21-year old and what happened in the January window:
”If you want an attacker or winger who comes straight into our team and is better than other options, you have to spend £30-40m, that’s where we are.” he said in Thursday’s press conference.
”If this is not possible, you have to accept that you can improve depth in your squad.
”Happy to have him, we’ve improved depth and replaced Jack Harrison. He’ll get all my trust and support. I don’t write him off after one poor half because he hasn’t played for ages.
”Let’s see what the outcome is in summer, not a big risk, just an opportunity for him to sign.”

Daniel Farke is right
Ultimately, this part of the presser is aimed at the 49ers. Daniel Farke needs players who can come in and perform right away, given the club’s current situations. Players who can perform from their first game and give the team a real chance at survival. It is very early for Buonanotte, but his start to life has not eased any tensions. The 49ers having just one signing was a bad call, and if he does turn out to be a flop, Farke will be totally justified. The fans will also feel that the Leeds boss’ hands were tired when the window opened last month.
