First details announced for Albion's 125th anniversary celebrations

Brian Horton, Mark McGhee and Glenn Murray helped launch the programme of special events.

And Brighton Pavilion was illuminated in blue and white as night fell on the city.

Fans will be able to get further in the mood with screenings of the club’s official documentary Stand or Fall in April.

It will be shown at The Connaught in Worthing on April 2 and Concorde II in Madeira Drive, Brighton, on April 15.

On Tuesday, May 19, players’ awards night will take on a special feel as a big stage and screen production set are placed in front of the players tunnel at the Amex.

The night will include appearances from well-known faces from the club’s history.

On Saturday, June 6, the Amex pitch will stage a 125 Anniversary Family Festival, including football, music, entertainment and special guests.

The actual anniversary falls on Wednesday, June 24, when there will be an Albion takeover of the city with special commemorations hosted where it all started in the Seven Stars pub.

As the new seasons draws near, the Amex will stage a celebratory friendly at the Amex.

On Saturday, August 15, a brand-new permanent gallery exhibition will be opening in the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, titled Brighton & Hove Albion: Stand or Fall.

Then, as the 2026-27 campaign gets under way, the home game closest to the anniversary of the club’s first competitive match on September 21, 1901, will be designated as the 125 Anniversary Match.

A 125 Anniversary Fan Wall will be installed at the Amex, comprising a mosaic of individual fan photographs.
