Everton are said to be keeping a close eye on Jason Knight ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sportsboom are reporting that Everton are looking to sign the Bristol City midfielder, who will have just one year left on his contract in the summer.
It is a case of Everton reigniting their interest, after the club were also looking at Knight last summer.
Bristol City are said to be ‘desperate’ to keep hold of Knight and want to hand him a new contract.
But that will be difficult, with interest from top-flight clubs building in the 25-year-old.
Everton aren’t the only club interested though. West Ham United and Leeds United are also mentioned as being keen.
Knight is said to be aiming for a top division move.

So there is already speculation about Knight heading into the summer.

But it is perhaps not out of the question that he could stay put and extend his contract at Ashton Gate.
At the moment, the Robins are ninth in the table and firmly in contention for the play-offs, being just one point behind sixth-placed Derby County.
If City can gain promotion, this in theory would give them a great chance of retaining their captain.
But this will take a big effort. Bristol City are currently in their 11th consecutive season in the Championship and have never played in the Premier League before.
Should they fail to get there this year, Knight may agitate to leave.
Everton looking to Championship as Idrissa Gueye flails
It would seem that Everton do have an eye on the Championship at the moment for potential new recruits this summer.
As well as Knight, Everton have also been linked with Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney.
Hackney would be expensive at around £30 million though, so Knight may well be considered as a much cheaper option.
Does Gueye need to be dropped? 🤔
Idrissa Gana Gueye.
Meanwhile, there remains some concern over Idrissa Gana Gueye at the moment.
Gueye’s level seems to have dipped, and overall it hasn’t been the best of seasons for the midfield veteran.
He’s not getting any younger. And it may well be that Everton decide against exercising his one-year extension option.
