There is no point in sugarcoating the fact that Tyler Dibling is having an utterly terrible campaign at Everton.
The England U21 international arrived at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to much fanfare after a £40m move from Southampton in July, where he had set the Premier League alight last season.
However, the 20-year-old is yet to score or even assist a goal for Everton in 16 appearances, causing David Moyes to point the finger at Dibling in a recent press conference by demanding he steps up.
The Glaswegian said: “I’d be thinking I better pull my finger out and show the manager what I was really about… are you going to get us some assists, are you going to score some goals?”
If David Moyes were to take a closer look at the attacking data of Tyler Dibling – however – he may grow even more angry.
How can Tyler Dibling actually turn things around at Everton? 🤷♂️
It's going to need some turnaround from the youngster 😫

Amazingly, Tyler Dibling is yet to even record a shot on target for Everton this season
Forget the absence of a goal or assist, the man born in Exeter has not even tested a single goalkeeper in the Premier League this season, as Opta reveal he is yet to record a shot on target.
That is simply unacceptable for a £40m signing, even if he is only 20 years of age.

Player Total Shots Shots on Target Expected Goals (xG)
James Tarkowski 11 5 1.94
Charly Alcaraz 18 5 1.11
Jake O’Brien 9 3 0.86
Harrison Armstrong 4 1 0.70
Merlin Rohl 7 0 0.64
Dwight McNeil 8 2 0.48
Tim Iroegbunam 7 0 0.41
Vitalii Mykolenko 9 2 0.29
Tyler Dibling 4 0 0.20
Even Vitalii Mykolenko has managed to register two shots on target this term, while a central defender in James Tarkowski can boast five shots on target.
It points to a severe lack of confidence from Dibling, as even a hopeful shot from distance which rolls into the goalkeeper’s hands would count as a shot on target – evidently, the Everton No.20 is playing it far too safe in the final third.
Everton run a genuine risk of seeing £40m investment crumble
Everton spent heavily on potential when signing Dibling rather than purchasing anything close to the finished article.
After all, the youngster managed just two goals in 33 Premier League appearances last season.
However, with Dibling seemingly going backwards this term and hardly even getting any minutes under Moyes so far in 2026, Everton are seriously at risk of seeing no return from this £40m investment.
Something has to change quickly.

Whether that be a loan move for Dibling or a new position in the side, a tweak needs to be made before the 20-year-old ends up being completely devoid of confidence at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
