Konstantinos Mavropanos has hailed West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen as one of the top three teammates he’s ever played alongside, as well as Mesut Ozil.
Mavropanos stepped in to captain West Ham United in Bowen’s absence against Burton last time out, although the England international is set to return for Saturday’s game against Bournemouth.
Bowen issued his seal of approval to Mavropanos’s captaincy at West Ham, and the defender has been one of the stars upon which Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have built their recent revival.

The defender spoke to West Ham’s official website and was asked for his top three teammates. Having played for Arsenal, Greece and Stuttgart over the course of his career, he had a lot to choose from.
Mavropanos named Bowen as one of them and said: “I will also say Jarrod [Bowen]. I think his qualities and the energy he puts into every training session and game are exceptional.”

Mavropanos joined West Ham in 2023 and most of his time here in east London has been a struggle for the club as a whole.
Still, he has largely remained an ever-present since breaking into the first team towards the second half of his first season at the club.

The other two former teammates Konstantinos Mavropanos named alongside Jarrod Bowen
Mavropanos has enjoyed a fine career thus far, amassing 40 caps for Greece and picking up a medal when Arsenal won the FA Cup in 2020.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the defender named Ozil as one of his top three former teammates, having played with him at Arsenal.
“Mesut Ozil,” he said. “I really liked his quality and everything. What a player he was!”
He also hailed fellow defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, with whom he played alongside for Arsenal and Greece.
“Lastly, I will say Sokratis Papastathopoulos. We played again together for Arsenal, and he helped me a lot to understand more of the game and everything outside of it because it was my first year outside of Greece playing in the Premier League.”
