Everton set to break Hill Dickinson Stadium record after announcement ahead of Man United clash

Everton supporters’ group The 1878s are set to unveil a record-breaking 400 flag display at the Hill Dickinson Stadium ahead of kick-off against Manchester United.

David Moyes needs his side to turn around their poor form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium if they are going to have any hope of European qualification.

It is nearing three months since Everton last won a game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, which came in the 3-0 win over Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest.

Everton are making improvements to the Hill Dickinson Stadium as they upgrade the new ground’s accessibility for disabled supporters.

Improvements are also needed on the pitch as the results have simply not been good enough.

What is going so wrong at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for Everton? 😳

It is now less than one win in every three following the loss against Bournemouth… 😤

In hope of inspiring a big atmosphere on Monday evening, the 1878s will be putting on their biggest display yet ahead of the game against the Red Devils.

“Our display on Monday night v Man United will be the biggest single stand flag display we have done yet. In the south stand upper and lower there will be over 400 flags on display,” said The 1878s over X.

“The majority of these flags will be placed on random seats. We are kindly asking fans to help us make this display look as great as possible by waving/holding all of these flags on the night.”

“Please do not take these flags home,” they added.

The 1878s put together an impressive display against Arsenal in the south stand of the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

However, this flag display for Monday evening is set to be their biggest yet, with a clear warning sent for fans not to take the flags home with them.

Everton need to produce their first big win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

Despite making a solid start to the season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Toffees do not exactly have a win against a big team to their name.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers thinks opposition sides are enjoying Everton’s new stadium, with its impressive state-of-the-art facilities.

Home results vs Big Six 2024/25 (Goodison Park) 2025/26 (Hill Dickinson Stadium)

Arsenal 1-1 D 0-1 L

Chelsea 0-0 D /

Liverpool 2-2 D /

Manchester City 0-2 L /

Manchester United 2-2 D /

Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 W 0-3 L

In a big change from Goodison Park, Everton have seemingly lost that spark to pull out a result against some of the top Premier League sides.

Four of the so-called Big Six still need to come to the Liverpool docks, but it’s been zero points from a possible six so far against the two north London sides.

The biggest result the Blues have secured is perhaps the very first against Brighton & Hove Albion given the historical value of the fixture.

Monday night could change that and potentially put the Blues back on track to end the season in style.

Another loss at the new stadium will certainly spark some questions over what Moyes is getting so wrong at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
