**West Ham United**’s Emirates FA Cup fifth-round tie against **Brentford FC** has been confirmed for Monday 9 March.
The Hammers will host the Bees at the [London Stadium](https://www.claretandhugh.info/london-stadium-bio/), with kick-off scheduled for 7.30pm GMT. The match will be shown live in the UK on TNT Sports.
While many supporters will view the draw as unkind, Brentford haven’t quite been the same swashbuckling cup side that’s impressed so much in the league this season.
Under Keith Andrews, the Bees edged past Macclesfield FC in round four after heavy rotation, having earlier recorded a 2–0 away win at Sheffield Wednesday.
In truth, they struggled to put Macclesfield away with a second string, and with European qualification still a realistic target, Brentford may not see the FA Cup as a top priority.
Summerville Sends West Ham Through
----------------------------------
Nuno’s boys booked their place in the fifth round with a hard-fought 1–0 extra-time victory over Burton Albion on Saturday.
It was Crysencio Summerville who finally settled the contest five minutes into the additional period, having also seen off Queens Park Rangers in the third round.
So while Brentford will pose a stern test, a home tie under the lights offers West Ham a genuine opportunity to reach the quarter-finals — especially if the visitors decide to keep one eye firmly on their league campaign.
