Everton youngster Tyler Onyango is finding it ‘hard to accept’ his season-ending injury sustained out on loan with Stockport County.
After what had been a productive loan stint under manager Dave Challinor, Onyango has released a statement in response to his hamstring injury.
A number of Everton prospects have departed on loan this season in search of more regular game time away from Finch Farm.
Onyango enjoyed a solid start at Stockport in League One as the Hatters push for promotion to the Championship.
However, the 22-year-old has endured a disrupted season, which has now resulted in the midfielder needing surgery.

As Onyango is set to undergo surgery, the Everton midfielder has shared his thoughts on how his season has come to a premature end.

Onyango was excited to play regular football with Stockport but the remaining months of his campaign have been snatched away from him.

Under Challinor, Onyango had made 13 appearances for Stockport in what had been a disrupted season.

Taking to Instagram, Onyango has now shared his frustrations at the news he will not play again this term.
“Incredibly hard to accept. Been a tough few seasons dealing with set back after set back but I’m determined to overcome this difficult period,” he said.
Onyango’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season at Everton, which will put a big question mark over his future at Finch Farm.
At the age of 22, Onyango will now be looking to play regular minutes in men’s football. That is something that may not be on offer at Everton.
David Moyes has wanted more from the Everton academy players and Onyango will be hoping to make the step up over the summer, wherever his future lies.

Like the 22-year-old said, it has not been an easy few years on the injury front for Onyango.
The midfielder’s stint at Stockport last season was also cut short due to a hamstring injury.

Over the course of the last five years, Onyango has missed over a full calendar year’s worth of football due to numerous injury issues.
His 56-minute appearance on Tuesday night was actually his first showing for Stockport since Boxing Day.
It is certainly a cruel way for the midfielder’s season to come to an end.
