Man Utd team news and injury latest to face Everton in the Premier League fixture on Monday night.

Manchester United have been handed a fitness boost ahead of their trip to face Everton in the Premier League fixture on Monday night.

Michael Carrick's side are back in action when they make the trip to Merseyside and will hope to return to winning ways after they were held to a draw by West Ham last time out. United have been handed a rare 13-day gap between matches and will also hope the extra time off works to their advantage on their first trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

United were without three players for the 1-1 draw against West Ham, while defender Harry Maguire suffered an injury scare when he was taken off in the second half of the match. Carrick welcomed his players back to Carrington on Wednesday morning and he has been handed a fitness boost for the Everton match.

Manchester United team news vs Everton

Manchester United will have Harry Maguire available for selection when they travel to face Everton in the Premier League early next week. Maguire appeared to suffer a slight hamstring issue in the recent draw with West Ham but is not considered an injury doubt for the forthcoming match. Mason Mount is also close to a return to action after he missed the previous three matches due to a slight issue.

The duo both took part in first-team training this week and are set to be involved when United face Everton on Monday night. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Michael Carrick was quizzed on the team news for the match.

“Mason is getting closer, we have been patient with him,” Carrick said in his pre-match press conference on Friday. “We don’t want to push anything. We want him back and fit. He is getting closer which is good for us. Mat is working towards it, he is a bit behind Mason.”

United will still be without Matthijs De Ligt (back) and Patrick Dorgu (hamstring), but there is hope the duo could both return to action at some stage next month. De Ligt has missed 14 matches after he suffered a back injury, and Dorgu has missed three matches since he suffered a hamstring issue in the superb 3-2 away win over Arsenal last month.
