Tottenham loanee who thrived under Igor Tudor at Juventus tipped to ‘rejuvenate’ himself under…

Tottenham fans have not seen the best of the loanee this season.

Tottenham made a significant statement in the transfer window last summer by signing eight new players in an effort to build on their Europa League triumph. The Lilywhites prioritised attacking reinforcements, bringing in Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani. However, it is fair to say that none of these high-profile additions have truly lived up to expectations this season.

Summer loanee Kolo Muani has struggled to make a meaningful impact for the North Londoners. He has found it difficult to adapt to the demands of the Premier League and drifted in and out of the team under Thomas Frank. As a result, the Frenchman has yet to register a goal or an assist in the Premier League this season, prompting the club to reassess whether signing him was the right decision.

The 27-year-old was recruited to compete with Dominic Solanke and Richarlison for a spot in the starting eleven. He was viewed as a smart acquisition who could help Spurs close the gap on their rivals at the top end of the table. Instead, his lack of influence led the North Londoners to seriously consider terminating his loan in January, which would have allowed Kolo Muani to join Juventus for the remainder of the campaign.

Randal Kolo Muani could get a lifeline at Tottenham under Igor Tudor

It was under Igor Tudor that Randal Kolo Muani enjoyed a productive spell last season, scoring five goals for Juventus in the second half of the campaign. He quickly became one of the first names on the team sheet, with Tudor keen to sign the prolific forward last summer as well. However, the Old Lady missed out on his signature, with Spurs winning the race to secure him instead. Now that Tudor is at N17, Kolo Muani could yet emerge as a key figure for the North Londoners.

Alasdair Gold believes that Igor Tudor’s appointment could offer Kolo Muani the opportunity to revitalise his career at N17 and rediscover his form in the months ahead. Writing for Football London, Gold said,

“Randal Kolo Muani has scored three goals and laid on two assists in seven Champions League games but he is yet to score or set up a single goal in the Premier League. Kolo Muani could be rejuvenated by the arrival of Tudor as he netted five times and provided one assist in 11 appearances under the Croatian at the end of last season at Juventus as he and the Croatian helped push the Old Lady into the top four.”

The journalist added,

“The new interim boss wanted to sign the forward last summer and was reportedly very unhappy when Juventus failed to get him. With Wilson Odobert out for most of 2026 with an ACL injury, Spurs are going to need his fellow Frenchman to step up in the remaining months of this season and they might just have brought in the perfect person to make that happen.”

Kolo Muani has only shown flashes of his potential since arriving in North London last summer. However, the arrival of Igor Tudor gives the Frenchman the opportunity to work again with a manager who understands his strengths, which could help him regain his confidence. Having thrived under Tudor at Juventus, Alasdair Gold believes the duo could replicate that success during their time together at N17 in the coming months.

It is crucial for Kolo Muani to make an immediate impact for the Lilywhites. With Wilson Odobert suffering an ACL rupture earlier last month, Spurs require the Frenchman to fill the void on the left wing and build a strong partnership with Dominic Solanke in the final third. The club would greatly benefit from seeing the 27-year-old rediscover his best form, given his natural eye for goal and ability to consistently find dangerous positions.
