Tottenham Hotspur and Republic of Ireland legend Keane has impressed the Eagles hierarchy during his time in charge of Ferencvaros.
The 45-year-old has been in charge of the Hungarian outfit since January 2025 - guiding them to the top-flight title last term.
His side are currently second in the table this season, and remain in the Europa League.
Glasner admitted today that he is 'not good enough' after holding crisis talks with the Selhurst Park board.

It comes following the south London outfit's 1-1 draw away at Bosnian side Zrinjski in their Conference League knockout play-off on Thursday night.
Palace fans were quick to show their discontent with Glasner as they serenaded him with chants of 'sacked in the morning'.
Glasner guided Palace to their first piece of silverware last season in the FA Cup following a famous 1-0 win over Manchester City.
And the Austrian followed that up by masterminding a Community Shield victory against Liverpool in August.
But with Palace languishing in 13th spot in the Premier League, having lost seven of their last 11 top-flight matches, his time could be coming to an end.
He is only tied down at Palace until the summer, with Glasner announcing last month that he doesn't intend to renew his deal.
