Brentford boss remains on guard as bosses set their tactical plans

The Bees boos has forward Kevin Schade available again following a three-match ban for his red card at Aston Villa.

Ex-Seagulls midfielder Andrews saw his side come through a tricky FA Cup test at Macclesfield on Monday thanks to an own goal.

He reported no new injury concerns from that tie.

Josh Dasilva (knee ligament) remains sidelined, while Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo will miss the rest of the campaign due to ACL injuries.

Andrews, who helped Albion to the Championship play-offs in 2013-14, said: “It’s more about us, but there’s always the element of the opposition and where we see their dangers and threats.

“I have a lot of respect for Fabian (Hurzeler) and the job he has done, and is doing, there.

“There’s a lot of fine margins in games. I’ve watched a lot of them this week and the results probably haven’t been fair overall. They’ve been in so many games, and it’s just fallen the wrong side for them.

“We’re well aware that it will be a very tricky game and we’ll have to earn a result tomorrow.”

Hurzeler is wary of Brentford’s pace in attack and will tailor the gameplan accordingly.

He said: "Try to take away the pace, take away the space they can attack with their fast players.

"It's not a thing to handle one to one. It's more a team, a unit thing to defend the space, to defend the players who can play these balls in behind from our last line and therefore we need to have a very good pressing.

“We have to be very compact and try to avoid these kinds of passes in the back from us."

Brentford are unbeaten in four games in league and cup and, since going down 1-0 to Manchester City on October 5, have lost just once at home in nine games.

That defeat was 2-0 to Nottingham Forest.
