'Kammy' spoke to The Northern Echo after the first night of his tour with Ben Shephard earned him a standing ovation at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
“I was born and bred in the Boro, I know I left at 16 and I haven’t lived there since, but Boro is my history," the Soccer Saturday stalwart said.
“I’ve got a lot of friends in the area still, my old schoolmates and I got to see most of them on Sunday night, it was great.”

One of these schoolmates is Middlesbrough FC chairman Steve Gibson, who Kamara has known since they were both five-year-olds.
“He’s the best chairman that UK football has ever known,” Kammy proclaimed.
“There’s nobody out there that can deny that, no managers ever leave the club disgruntled or slagging him off, so he’s got that honour of being the best chairman.
“Just for him, being back in the Premier League would be awesome.”
Kim Hellberg’s side sit in the automatic promotion places in the Championship and with 14 games left to play, the Premier League looks like it could be within reach, something Kamara also said would be “amazing” for the town.

Kamara sat down to talk to The Northern Echo in the wake of the Middlesbrough’s defeat away to Coventry, who have become something of a bogey team for the Boro in recent seasons and with whom the club finds itself in a battle for promotion to the Premier League.
“They didn’t play too badly,” Kammy insisted about the side’s performance in the 3-1 defeat to Frank Lampard’s Sky Blues.
“What they could not have expected is how much Coventry were up for it and I would say they really got bullied out of the first half – not in a real bad way, but I thought maybe the referee might step in on one or two occasions, but he didn’t.

“But take nothing away from Frank Lampard’s team, they were absolutely exceptional in that first half and they were great.
“What they’ve got, is they have two regular goalscorers, whereas Boro they’re relying on Conway and the midfielders and one or two others.
“They might have that edge in strikers, but Boro have shared the goals a bit more.”
