Mohamed Salah's contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and the Egyptian has not bwwn at his usual best this season, having been dropped by Arne Slot, which has led to plenty of speculation surrounding his future.
In a recent update, reporter James Pearce suggested a move to the USA is one of two main options, saying: "The MLS is another possible destination for him.
"It’s been suggested to me that actually is more appealing in many ways than the Saudi Pro League."
With Salah's future up in the air, the Reds have started scouring the market for new forwards, and several exciting targets have already been identified.
The Merseysiders have already held in-person talks over a deal for the Wolverhampton Wanderers star, and there has now been a new update on their transfer pursuit.
According to a report from Caught Offside, Liverpool are now leading the race to sign Mane, and a bid has already been prepared, but it may take a huge fee to tempt Wolves into a sale, with the Old Gold holding out for £50m.
One source admitted the club expect to be blown away in the fight for Mane this summer: "Wolves accept that it’s going to be very hard for them to keep Mateus Mane. This is one of the most outstanding talents in the country, and his rapid progression is no secret to Premier League scouts."
