Everton will get the chance to bolster their squad this summer when the next transfer window opens up for business.

Everton are in the mix for Europe under David Moyes this season. They find themselves in 8th place in the Premier League table after 26 fixtures. The Toffees won 2-1 away at Fulham at Craven Cottage last time out to bounce back from their home defeat to AFC Bournemouth in style.

David Moyes’ men are back in action on Monday night as they aim to build some momentum. They face a clash against Manchester United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Their upcoming opponents are sat in the top four along with Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Everton target summer transfer deal for Levante star Karl Etta Eyong

Everton are ‘interested’ in a move for Levante ace Karl Etta Eyong this summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. They are being linked with a swoop for the La Liga man at the end of this season for £26million. However, they face competition from the likes of CSKA Moscow, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal and Fulham.

Reporter Jacobs has posted on X: “Etta Eyong was benched for Levante’s match with Villarreal this evening. Understand Levante are pushing to sell the striker to CSKA Moscow, who have made an offer in excess of €30m. Eyong being pressured to leave but has no interest in going to Russia.

“Significant summer interest in the Cameroon forward. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal all have Eyong on their radar. Understand Fulham and Everton also now interested.”

Eyong, 22, is under contract at Levante until June 2029 meaning he still has three years left to run down on his deal and his current club are under no pressure to sell him. They can afford to wait for his valuation to be matched before they consider cashing in. He has made 23 appearances in all competitions this season, 22 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with six goals and three assists.

Why Etta Eyong would be ideal for Everton

Everton could see Etta Eyong as someone to boost their attacking department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch. In addition, he would inject more pace and power into their options going forward.

The Toffees need to add more firepower to their squad, especially in attack. Thierno Barry and Beto currently battle it out for their number one position. The latter is facing an uncertain long-term future though and was linked with an exit in January to Juventus, as per talkSPORT, but nothing materialised on that front in the end.

Eyong is a Cameroon international with eight caps to his name and he should now test himself in England. He would be unlikely to get much game time if he went somewhere like Arsenal or United. Therefore, Everton or Fulham would be an ideal next destination for him as he would be guaranteed consistent minutes.

He joined Cadiz in 2022 as a youngster and subsequently rose up through their ranks. He went on to play twice for their first-team as a teenager before switching to Villarreal in 2024. The Douala-born man subsequently scored two goals in seven matches during his time at Estadio de la Cerámica before switching to Levante last year and he hasn’t looked back since.
