£4m Everton player must feel unwanted under David Moyes after what West Ham man just revealed…

Everton fans discovered on Thursday that Lukasz Fabianski was offered a contract last summer.

The West Ham No.22 told Sportowefakty that Everton put a deal on the table for him after he was let go by the Hammers at the end of last season, before the east Londoners eventually took him back on a free transfer.

The Polish goalkeeper said: “I had several offers, from Everton (to be) the second goalkeeper, there was an inquiry from Legia (Warsaw). I had various conversations.”

Everton eventually sealed a £4m deal to sign Mark Travers as the new backup option for Jordan Pickford, but there is reason for Toffees No.12 to be concerned about his future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium if he thinks about the offer to Fabianski more deeply.

This has to be one of the saves of the season!

Where would Everton be without him?

Everton clearly wanted a different profile to Mark Travers

Look at it this way. Fabianski turns 41 in April, so Everton clearly had no intention of signing a backup goalkeeper who would be at the Hill Dickinson Stadium longer than a season or two.

Especially as Pickford is still only 31 and could man the posts for another five years – at least – Travers is surely having doubts over whether he will ever get a proper chance at Everton, where he remains under contract until July 2029.

The admission from Fabianski will only add to these potential fears.

Not only that, but George Pickford is developing well and could be capable of deputising for his namesake in the near future, so there is no guarantee whatsoever that the 26-year-old Travers is certain to step into the number one spot.

To us, it feels like the Republic of Ireland international might be wasting his time at Everton.

Mark Travers yet to experience what he was “looking forward to”

The man from Maynooth said he was “looking forward to” being a Premier League player for Everton, but that is yet to happen as David Moyes is yet to give him a single second of action in the league.

Travers said: “Jordan is an outstanding goalkeeper for club and country. I’m looking forward to competing with everyone here and being a Premier League player. Being in this environment is huge.

“We’re going to push each other every day in training and whatever happens on the weekend, we’re going to be there for each other.”

“Whatever happens on the weekend” sounded optimistic at the time given the presence of Pickford, who has quickly racked up 346 appearances for Everton since arriving in June 2017 and is showing no signs of slowing down.

What do you think was Jordan Pickford’s best ever save for Everton? 🤩

There's just SO many to pick from!

Now, the comment looks even stranger, and it is hard to see how Travers will ever get a run in the team in Premier League action unless Pickford were to suffer a serious injury – which has rarely happened throughout his career.
