Leeds United have proven they are more than capable of not just competing at a Premier League level, but thriving in the top-flight.
One man who deserves immense credit for this is Daniel Farke, who has been questioned, and rightly so at times, during his tenure at Elland Road; however, the German’s record so far this season in both the Premier League and FA Cup has been impressive.

A tough task awaits Farke’s men this afternoon, with the Whites making the trip to Villa Park, but the travelling Leeds fans will know that games like this will not define their season and returning to West Yorkshire with any result is merely a bonus.
Although Farke has been incredible for Leeds this season, reports suggest the 49ers are seemingly not convinced with their manager, in news that will shock Leeds fans.
49ers yet to enter new contract talks with Daniel Farke
With managers like Unai Emery praising the good work Farke has done at Leeds so far this season, it would seem to be a no-brainer that the 49ers tie their manager down for the future.
However, according to reports from Daily Mail Sport, United’s ownership may have other plans, with the report stating that Farke, who has just a year left on his deal, is yet to be contacted over a potential extension, which may come as a surprise given the position Leeds currently find themselves in.
With how well Farke has done this season, the 49ers look as though they are playing fire, with the German’s success so far at West Yorkshire likely to mean there will not be a shortage of clubs who would happily take him off Leeds’ hands if his contract is not renewed.
Also, from a personal standpoint, Farke may feel like he is yet to have the full backing of the 49ers, who look content to see his deal run down, even though he looks on course to achieve his goal of keeping United in the Premier League.

Data suggests Daniel Farke deserves a new contract
Leeds’ form has been exceptional over recent months, and if the 49ers were to allow Farke to walk in a year, it could prove to be a catastrophic error.
Leeds have lost just two of their last 15 matches in all competitions
In this run, they have managed to pick up six wins
The seven draws they have accumulated have also been valuable, with the majority of those draws coming against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, games that on paper, Leeds were expected to lose (Sofascore)
Whilst Farke may not be the long-term solution when it comes to getting Leeds back in Europe, the 49ers cannot afford to think that far ahead.
The recent form Leeds have had under Farke suggests that the German is more than capable of ensuring Leeds become a mid-table Premier League side under his management.
Ultimately, Leeds need to stabilise themselves as a Premier League outfit for at least three seasons before they think about climbing the table, and if Farke proves he is capable of keeping Leeds in the division, he should remain in the dugout at Elland Road until the quality of his squad suggests that he should be finishing higher up in the table.
