
Midfielders Charlie Purdy and Saurap Sampang have been named in the starting lineup as Arsenal U18s face Aston Villa today.
Schoolboy Purdy is part of Arsenal’s U16 squad and is set to make his debut at U18 level.
First year scholar Sampang, meanwhile, is set to play competitively at this level for the first time.
Further schoolboys have been named in the starting lineup in Elyon Mbala and Angelinou Pedro, as well as regular Kyran Thompson.
There are more schoolboys on the bench including goalkeeper Charlie Phillips as well as Hakeem Abubakar and Theo Odaji-Ukueku.
Arsenal are without the likes of Ceadach O’Neill, Brando Bailey-Joseph and Josh Ogunnaike, who could be with the U21s away to Reading on Monday.
Emerson Nwaneri, Mishel Nduka and Callan Hamill are all on international duty.
Sam Chapman comes into the side and is captain, while Jack Talbot, Abraham Owusu-Gyasi and Marley Frohock also start.
The only players in the starting lineup that also started the defeat to Tottenham in midweek are Pedro, Teshaun Murisa and Louis Zecevic John
