Leeds United

Leeds United fans were furious when the club emerged from the January window with just one addition to the first team. After the news around Facundo Buonanotte, the Whites their sights set on other targets.

Jorgen Strand Larsen was one; Leeds sought out the Wolves striker and even had an enquiry sent over his price tag. Unfortunately for Leeds, Wolves wanted a different deal instead of what the 49ers proposed. It is believed that the January window ended with the club scrambling to find high quality targets ahead of this summer. The club sought players from leagues across Europe in order to find some targets for this summer and beyond.

Manchester United show interest in Leeds United target

Leeds United had a busy January window, but they ended up with one addition to the first team. The Whites managed to sign midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on loan till the end of the season. And even though the Argentine is yet to start firing, they club believed he was the right signing in that window.

According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, outside Jorgen Strand Larsen, Leeds also attempted to sign another player. Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara was on the table in the winter window, with Leeds said to have held talks with the player. However, the proposed terms were not enough to advance the deal and so the Brazilian remained past the deadline.

Now, Manchester United are said to have joined the race, showing serious interest after the midfielder had a goal and assist in the Champions League midweek.

49ers should have closed important deal

It is becoming a habit of the club to leave deals on the table before they ultimately collapse. This happened in the summer with Igor Paixao; the Whites presented their proposal and showed interest before Marseille swooped in and completed the deal. A similar thing happened with Bilal El Khannous; Leeds United were aware of his price tag and release clause, but did nothing as the Leicester City star joined another club.

Even in January when the club were pursuing Jorgen Strand Larsen, the same thing happened. Leeds had a bid in and a proposal in place, but ultimately lost out to Crystal Palace who were willing to pay the asking price. Gabriel Sara is a top talent and is proven in England during his stint in the Championship.

He could be a great fit in this Leeds side and would boost the quality of the team immensely. The Whites had the chance to complete the deal and sign him, but now they have left the door open for Manchester United in the summer.
