Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Monday evening against Everton

Manchester United head to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time on Monday night to play Everton. They drew 1-1 against West Ham at the London Stadium last time out. Striker Benjamin Sesko scored a late equaliser against the Hammers.

The Red Devils are positioned in 4th place in the Premier League table after 26 fixtures. They are inside the top four with 12 games left to play this season as they look to get back into the Champions League. The North West giants sit behind Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa and above Chelsea and Liverpool.

Manchester United gear up for Everton trip

Michael Carrick has made a positive impression since he was appointed in caretaker charge of United. He was picked as their interim replacement for Ruben Amorim, who was sacked after an inconsistent run of form. The club’s hierarchy have a big decision to make on what direction they want to take with their managerial situation this summer.

The Red Devils won Carrick’s first four outings at the helm. Their momentum has been halted slightly by their draw against West Ham. Nevertheless, they remain unbeaten and will be feeling confident ahead of their upcoming clash.

Everton find themselves in 8th in the division and could get into Europe if they can string some more wins together. The Toffees will be satisfied with the work ex-United boss David Moyes has done in this campaign. They were beaten 2-1 on their own patch by AFC Bournemouth in their last outing though so will want to bounce back.

Chris Sutton shares prediction for Everton vs Manchester United

Chris Sutton has shared his prediction for Everton vs United, as per BBC Sport: “Manchester United lost at home to Everton in November despite the Toffees going down to 10 men in the 13th minute, when Idrissa Gueye was sent off for striking his team-mate Michael Keane.

“Ruben Amorim's United just could not find a way of breaking Everton down that night, but there is a very different feel about them now Michael Carrick is in charge. They needed a stoppage-time equaliser to get a point at West Ham last time out but they seem much more confident and have been playing well.

“This will be a tough game for them but, as I've mentioned previously, Everton have picked up more points on the road this season than they have done at home. That's another reason why I fancy United to get something here, and stop David Moyes doing the double over his former club. Sutton's prediction: 1-1.”
