Star pair return and big call on defender as Daniel Farke names Leeds United team vs Aston Villa

Leeds United team news for today’s Premier League clash at Aston Villa is in.

Whites boss Daniel Farke has named his Leeds United team for this afternoon’s Premier League showdown against high-flying Aston Villa at Villa Park (kick-off 3pm).

Farke was able to provide news of a big triple boost at Thursday’s pre-match press conference with Anton Stach, Pascal Struijk and Dan James all back in team training this week after their recent injuries.

Stach and Struijk now go straight back into the side but Struijk and Joe Rodon partner James Justin and not Jaka Bijol at the heart of the defence as Bijol is named on the bench alongside the returning James.

Noah Okafor, who suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend’s FA Cup clash at Birmingham City, had already been ruled out, the winger facing two to four weeks on the sidelines.

Okafor has already been ruled out of both today’s contest and also next weekend’s hosting of Manchester City.

Leeds United vs Aston Villa: Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Justin, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Ampadu, Gruev, Stach; Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin. Subs: Perri, Bornauw, Bijol, Longstaff, Tanaka, James, Gnonto, Nmecha, Piroe.
