West Ham forced into public apology after e mail fiasco

West Ham’s ticket office was forced to apologise to all London Stadium season ticket holders on Friday after an email suggested all seats would be relocated for the FA Cup game against Brentford.

The first Email told all season ticket holders

“As we prepare for our Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round tie against Brentford at London Stadium on Monday 9 March, we wanted to inform you that your usual Season Ticket seat will unfortunately not be available for this fixture.

Brentford have taken an increased allocation for this match and, as a result, Blocks 221–225 in the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand (Upper Tier) have been allocated to away supporters.

While this means you won’t be able to secure your regular seat, you will have an exclusive 24-hour priority window from 2pm on Tuesday 24 February to 2pm on Wednesday 25 February to select an alternative seat for this fixture.

During this window, you’ll have priority access to available seats before other Season Ticket Holders can purchase additional tickets. If you purchase within this period, your additional loyalty point will be awarded and visible in your account the following day.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support. Secure your alternative seat during your priority window and be part of a big FA Cup night at London Stadium.”

Realising their mistake, they sent a second Email apologising to those not affected by saying:

“You recently received a communication regarding seat relocations for the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round fixture against Brentford at London Stadium on Monday 9 March.

We would like to clarify that this information does not apply to your Season Ticket seat. Your seat is not located within the affected area of the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand (Upper Tier), and it will remain available to you for this fixture. No action is required on your part, and we apologise for any confusion this may have caused.”
