West Ham drew 0-0 at home against Bournemouth in the Premier League as they picked up a vital point in their battle against relegation.
Both sides created many chances to win the game, but both teams produced outstanding defensive displays.
West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo changed the entire team sheet that started against Burton Albion in the FA Cup last week as several players that were rested returned to the starting line-up.
The home side started off well and could have taken the lead in the first minute after Axel Disasi’s header from very close range was saved in the centre of the goal by Bournemouth’s goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic after a cross by Jarrod Bowen.
Five minutes later the Hammers created another chance again when Konstantinos Mavropanos header from the left side of the box went close but misses to the left following a set piece by Mateus Fernandes.
After a quite period the game started to come alive again and Valentín Castellanos came close to putting home side in the lead when his header from the right side of the six-yard box went close but misses to the left following a corner from Bowen on 32 minutes.
The Hammers kept the pressure up and two minutes later again came close when Bowen’s left footed shot from the right side of the box missed to the left following an assist by Konstantinos Mavropanos.
West Ham went into the break the happier side but must have been disappointed not to have scored from some of the chances they crested. Although they must have been pleased with their defensive display as Bournemouth did not create a single chance on goal.

Just like the first half the Hammers started off brightly as they went on the attack and Soungoutou Magassa right footed shot from outside the box was blocked by the Bournemouth defence on 55 minutes.
The Irons continued their domination and came forward again when Fernandes long range right footed shot from the left side of the box went close but misses to the left on 63 minutes.
For the first time in the match Bournemouth started to show their quality as they came forward on the counterattack and could have taken an underserved lead when David Brooks left footed shot from the left side of the box was blocked after being set up by Junior Kroupi on 68 minutes.
The away side started to get more confident and came forward again moments later when Adrien Truffert shot from outside the box only to see his effort blocked by the Hammers defence.
The Hammers could have snatched all three points in injury time when they came marching forward on the counterattack to set up Bowen with golden chance only to see is effort go high over the bar.
A point for West Ham means they stay in the regulation zone and two points from safety.
