Liverpool face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday, and with time running out in the Premier League season, they must win.
The Reds are sixth in the table behind Chelsea and Manchester United in the hunt for Champions League football for next season.
Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Liverpool must finish in the Champions League qualification places in order for Arne Slot to have any chance of keeping his job. As it is, the Liverpool board will meet at the end of the season to discuss Slot’s future as manager.
There have been encouraging signs in recent games and both Slot and the supporters will hope that this continues. Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate have been in improved form of late, with the former so important to the Merseysiders’ chance of success this season.
In his last six games for Liverpool, Salah has two goals and four assists, and appears to be returning to the prolific form that we have become accustomed to from the 33-year-old.

Peter Crouch and Chris Sutton predict Liverpool to beat Nottingham Forest
Liverpool lost 3-0 to Forest at Anfield in late November. It was one of the worst results in recent Anfield history, and it’s time they avenge themselves with a similar result at the City Ground.
Former Kop hero Peter Crouch believes Liverpool will win based on their recent form.
Crouch said: “I thought Kerkez probably had his best game in a red shirt as well [against Brighton]. So, and Wirtz looks good as well.
“I feel like they, you know, things are getting, things are looking brighter for Liverpool and Salah amongst the goals again. So, I can’t see anything other than the Liverpool win if I’m honest, to be fair.”

Chris Sutton also envisages a Liverpool win this weekend despite Vitor Pereira being likely to coach a strong defensive performance for the home team.
Sutton predicted a 1-0 win, saying: “We know Pereira will try to keep things tight, but Forest’s biggest issue throughout this campaign has been scoring goals and I am not sure they will be able to get at Liverpool.
“Arne Slot’s side became the first team to win at the Stadium of Light when they edged out Sunderland in their last league game, and I can see a similar outcome here.”
Paul Merson has already said he thinks Liverpool will win given their improved recent form.
