The main piece of news to update you on is **Jeremie Frimpong**‘s fitness: the Dutchman “will not be involved this weekend,” said Slot.
Liverpool do, however, hope he “will be involved next week if things go as planned.”
Another potential right-back option, Wataru Endo, is also absent, with Slot explaining: “We don’t know how exactly how long, but long.”
Thankfully, having been gradually brought back up to full fitness, Gomez should be able to start. Slot’s exact words when asked if that would be the case were: “I think he is.”
In attack, Alexander Isak is still some way off a return but Slot did offer an update on his recovery, explaining: “It’s the question of if things go really well or if he gets a little bit of a setback.

“It will be around that period of time, end of March, start of April, where he’s hopefully back with the group.
“When you’re back with the group, it’s not to say that you are ready to play, let alone start a game of football, because again he’s been out for months.
“The last time he was out for months, I think we could all see it took him a while before he was the player we’ve signed from Newcastle.”
Elsewhere, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni remain sidelined until next season, while Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns continue to regain their fitness after hamstring problems.
