Wolves could face a battle to keep hold of the player this summer amid attention from elsewhere
Wolves defender Hugo Bueno is attracting ‘concrete interest’ from Newcastle United, according to Football Insider. The left-back is being linked with an exit from Molineux this summer. He is under contract until June 2028 so still has a couple of years left to run down.
Rob Edwards’ side are back in Premier League action this weekend. They face an away trip to Selhurst Park to play Crystal Palace. The Midlands outfit remain bottom of the table and are in the drop zone with Burnley and West Ham.
Wolves defender Hugo Bueno eyed by Newcastle United
Wolves could face a battle to keep hold of Bueno in the next transfer window. Newcastle could see him as someone to boost their defensive department. They currently play Lewis Hall in his position at left-back.
Bueno, 23, has been on the books of his current club since joining them back in 2019. Prior to his move to England, he rose up through the academy at CD Areosa. He made his debut back in October 2022 in a league fixture against Nottingham Forest.
The Spaniard has since made 75 appearances for Wolves in all competitions, 26 of which have come this season, and he has chipped in with two goals from the back. He was loaned out to Feyenoord in the last campaign after falling out of favour and he went on to play 30 games during his time in the Eredivisie. He then returned last summer and has since enjoyed a new lease of life.
Wolves man Hugo Bueno scored first Premier League goal against Arsenal
After scoring his first league goal for Wolves against Arsenal last time out, Bueno said: “It’s an incredible feeling. I was able to get my first Premier League goal, at home, and it’s something I wanted to do for a long time, so I’m super happy.
“It wasn’t an easy match at all, losing 2-0, but we knew we had to keep pushing, keep working, keep believing and in the end, we got the result. There’s a lot of work behind the scenes, and it’s not been an easy season, so to get a little reward today was amazing.”
