Liverpool team predicted to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at the City Ground.

Liverpool have a chance to boost their Premier League top-five finish hopes when they travel to Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea’s surprise 1-1 draw against Burnley means that a win for the Reds will see them go level on points with the London side and Manchester United, who travel to Everton on Monday night.

Yet Arne Slot is acutely aware of the challenge that Forest will pose Liverpool. The Reds boss has failed to beat the City Ground outfit in three attempts since taking over the Anfield hot seat. When the two outfits met in the reverse fixture in November, Liverpool suffered a chastening 3-0 defeat.

The Reds have improved since that period and head to the City Ground against the backdrop of successive wins over Sunderland and Brighton. But Forest are fighting for their lives in 17th and after making their latest change in the dugout, Vitor Pereira engineered a 3-0 Europa League victory over Fenerbahce earlier this week.

Ahead of encounter, here’s a look at how Liverpool could line-up.

GK - Alisson Becker

The Brazilian has recorded successive clean sheets and another will give Liverpool a big chance of recording victory.

RB - Joe Gomez

Slot has confirmed that Liverpool’s longest-serving player is fit to start after injury. He will provide defensive stability if he does get the nod.

CB - Ibrahima Konate

The France international has been in superb form of late after his blip.

CB - Virgil van Dijk

The Liverpool captain’s threat in both boxes will be important.

LB - Milos Kerkez

Really starting to find his rhythm since joining from Bournemouth and is showing why Liverpool paid £40 million for him.

CM - Ryan Gravenberch

The Netherlands international has started every league game he’s been available for and there is no reason why there will be a drastic change.

CM - Dominik Szoboszlai

Been Liverpool’s talisman this season wherever he has played. Szoboszlai hasn’t often operated from a deeper midfield role, although it’s something that could suit.

RW - Mo Salah

A goal and an assist against Brighton will have boosted his confidence markedly.

AM - Florian Wirtz

The £100m summer signing has proven his early critics wrong with his recent performances. However, he will have to stand up a physical test.

LW - Cody Gakpo

Played his part in the win over Brighton and always has moments in games even though everything might not come off.

ST - Hugo Ekitike

There is somewhat of a burden on the France international with Alexander Isak still recovering from a broken leg but he’s taken up the mantle superbly.

Mamardashvili, Woodman, Robertson, Ramsay, Mac Allister, Jones, Nyoni, Chiesa, Ngumoha.
