Report: Any summer move to Hill Dickinson for Liam Delap could hinge on £26m Everton player

Any Everton move for Chelsea striker Liam Delap this summer could be dependent on Beto.

That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk, who have again mentioned the Toffees’ interest in the striker.

Would you rather sign a promising young striker overseas or a proven Premier League centre-forward? 🤔

Everton interested in Levante striker Etta Eyong.

It is anticipated that Everton will make the signing of a new centre forward a big priority in the next transfer window, after failing to sign one in January.

There were lots of links but ultimately, Everton stuck with Thierno Barry and Beto.

But speculation has already started and Delap is on the club’s radar.

Chelsea still deciding the basis for Delap’s exit

TEAMtalk say that there is indeed interest from Everton in Delap, but that the club are currently still weighing up whether to let him leave on loan, or sell him.

It was suggested earlier this week Chelsea would be ‘more likely’ to sanction a loan exit for Delap, but that a permanent sale should not be ruled out.

Interestingly, there is mention of Beto, and how his movements this summer could be the catalyst for any Delap move.

Of course, Beto was linked with an exit from Everton in January, and the Toffees were open to offloading him if the terms were right.

Beto has had interest in him from Italy for some time now, and potentially he could be on his way out this summer.

Everton must offload Beto this summer

Regardless of whether Delap would be willing to come to Everton this summer or not, the club do need to be offloading Beto this summer.

Nobody can ever fault Beto’s attitude, but arguably Everton cannot reach new levels persisting with the £26 million man (Guardian).

Barry is younger and we’ve seen flickers of his quality. The potential is there.

Where does Beto stack up among Everton’s worst-ever strikers? 🤔

Just 13 goals in 83 Premier League appearances is so poor 🫣

Beto is 28 now and has scored 14 Premier League goals in 86 games in the competition. Arguably, he is not going to improve much more, if at all.

Upgrading on him this summer should be something high on Everton’s agenda, and the club can find that man in Delap, who must be champing at the bit to be playing and scoring regularly.
