Newcastle United 2026/27 kit leak: Fresh images of Newcastle United’s 2026/27 kits have been shared.
Images of Newcastle United’s potential home and away kits for the 2026/27 season have been shared online.
The Magpies are two years into a deal with Adidas, after the German-founded company returned as the club’s kit manufacturer ahead of the 2024/25 season, almost 15 years after their previous deal ended following the 2009/10 campaign. Next season will mark the third season that Adidas kits have been worn on Tyneside following the new deal, one that will reportedly net the Magpies £30m per season.
This season’s home kit, one that debuted on the final day of last season against Everton at St James’ Park, featured a blue trim. Images released by the Times of their potential kit next season also includes a blue trim, but it isn’t the detailing that has supporters talking.
Instead, it is the move away from solid black-and-white stripes and instead to a kit with a solid black stripe flanked by thinner stripes that has caused much debate online. Described mockingly as a ‘barcode’ kit and compared to their 1990 home kit which featured black stripes that increased in size, the leaked images have divided supporters online.
Images of a brickwork patterned alternative kit has also been leaked. That kit is likely to be dark in colour and could be a similar colour to the navy kit that is currently used on the club’s third kit this season.
David Hopkinson’s bold Newcastle United 2030 claim
Their deal with Adidas, one that proved a hit with supporters when it was announced almost three years ago, is just one part of Newcastle United’s bold ambition to challenge the footballing elite and establishment by the end of the decade. Since the takeover of the club was completed in October 2021, the Magpies have twice played Champions League football and ended their long wait to lift major silverware.
The next stage of the club’s development will be to kick-on and ensure those Champions League campaigns and trophy wins keep coming on a regular basis. The club’s new CEO, David Hopkinson, spoke earlier this month on Talk Sport about their ambition to be ‘consistently contending for the top prizes’ by 2030.

Speaking about PIF and the vision of the club’s ownership, Hopkinson said: “The number one thing I talk to the ownership about is ambition. That’s the magic word here - making sure we have got the correct ambition. We have total alignment on that.
“This is a club that, by 2030, will be consistently contending for the top prizes in global football, but we have a lot of wood to chop between here and there.”
Asked how he will help the club get to that point, Hopkinson added: “When I see Newcastle United, everywhere I look, I see opportunity.”
Newcastle United, though, face an uphill task to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Eddie Howe’s side are all-but through to the Round of 16 in this season’s competition and can look forward to a last-16 clash against either Barcelona or Chelsea for a place in the quarter-finals.
