Liverpool maintained their challenge for a top-four finish with a dramatic victory at Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon. Moments having had a goal controversially chalked off for handball, Alexis Mac Allister netted the winner in the seventh minute of additional time to secure a 1-0 triumph.
The result means Arne Slot's side are now level on points with both Chelsea and Manchester United and have lost only two of their last 20 games in all competitions.
The ECHO was in attendance at the City Ground and here we run the rule over the performances of the Liverpool players.
Alisson Becker 6
Brave stop to deny Hudson-Odoi in opening moments but first-half distribution was at times shockingly bad. Much more composed after the interval.
Dominik Szoboszlai 7
Struggled with floated balls and the pace of Hudson-Odoi before moving into defensive midfield and becoming more consistent influence and crossed the ball for eventual winner.
Ibrahima Konate 9
Appeared to be playing against Forest by himself for much of the first half in superb show of defending and maintained his level throughout. Excellent.
Virgil van Dijk 6
All over the place in the opening quarter and took a couple of heavy bangs, but mild improvement towards half-time and one vital interception. Second half much more straightforward and involved in winner.
Milos Kerkez 6
Given some hospital passes by Van Dijk and Alisson in early exchanges but defended doggedly up against Hutchinson and then Bakwa. Subbed.
Ryan Gravenberch 4
Repeatedly have the ball for Forest and weak in the challenge during dire first-half showing. Mild improvement second half, but that wasn't too difficult.
Alexis Mac Allister 6
Bypassed continually in midfield and regularly played the ball to anyone or anything but a team-mate. Slow in thought and action, and glanced one header well wide second half before having goal chalked off controversially and then another allowed during astonishing injury-time period.
Mohamed Salah 4
Barely involved first half apart from one overhit cross and too easily knocked off ball. Didn't get much out of Williams second half but did lay off opening for Jones. Subbed.
Curtis Jones 4
Thrown in at last minute due to Wirtz injury and really struggled to hold on to possession before being switched to right-back. Better second half and forced Ortega into save from close range. Subbed.
Cody Gakpo 5
At least put in a bit of a shift before break and actually ran at the Forest defence while cross forced first Liverpool chance second half. Subbed.
Hugo Ekitike 4
One of many to take a knock from the clumsy Sangare and struggled to make any impact and should have scored to make contention over disallowed goal irrelevant.
