An Arsenal star had to be rushed to hospital after they suffered a horror injury during a clash on Sunday.

Olivia Smith needed medical attention after she was feared to have suffered a concussion after a clash of heads. Arsenal made Smith the first-ever £1million player in the women's game over the summer.

And their star striker was on the floor for an extended period of time after the clash of heads. And fans were quick to extended their well-wishes on social media: "Speedy recovery Olivia Smith! Rest up," one fan replied.

"Get better soon Olivia!! It’s a small setback but you’ll be back," a second posted. And another added: "Horrible scenes with Olivia Smith who is stretched off the pitch..."

The Gunners ran out 3-0 winners on Sunday against Bristol City, thanks to goals from Kim Little, Victoria Pelova and an own goal.

Speaking about the win, head coach Renée Slegers said: "Happy with the win, happy we're progressing. Clean sheet again. I don't think we give them much apart from a couple of set pieces.
