Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points with a 4-1 win over Tottenham in the north London derby.
Mikel Arteta’s side had their cushion cut to just two by Manchester City, who beat Newcastle 2-1 on Saturday night.
It was an unideal start to Igor Tudor’s interim reign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as the Croat oversaw his first game in English football.
Eberechi Eze returned to the side to notch his first goals since his hat-trick in the reverse fixture back in November, bagging a brace in a massive victory for the Gunners.
Randal Kolo Muani cancelled out Eze’s opener almost immediately after a mistake by Declan Rice, but Viktor Gyokeres stepped up in the second half to curl the visitors back in front.
A defensive mix-up allowed Eze to stroke home his second and Arsenal’s third, before Gyokeres powered through the flailing Spurs defence and slamming home past Vicario in stoppage time.
handing them a crucial three points in this gripping title race.
