Mohamed Salah has been slammed for his performance and actions after being substituted in Liverpool's 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest, with Jamie Carragher among those to criticise the Egyptian international.
Arne Slot's side struggled to create much of note over the course of 90 minutes, as their talisman endured a difficult afternoon away from home at the City Ground. Managing just no shots over the course of a 77-minute cameo, Salah also only created one big chance for his teammates.
Failing to complete 12 of his 39 passes in the match, it was a day to forget for the 33-year-old, who was withdrawn for youngster Rio Ngumoha with 10 minutes left to play. And to make matters worse, the 17-year-old was at the heart of the move which led to Liverpool's winning goal, playing a part in the build-up before Alexis Mac Allister finished from close range.

Salah's shortcomings on Sunday have been a hot topic for many after the game. But they have been amplified as his actions after being substituted have gone viral on social media.
Footage broadcast to viewers appeared to show him smirking after he was withdrawn by Slot for Ngumoha, with him also snubbing the Dutchman on the sidelines.
Additionally, another angle appeared to show him laughing and smiling on the substitutes' bench, despite Liverpool still needing to find a goal for the win. Salah's actions haven't gone down well with supporters, who believe that he should be offering more to the team.

The incident will only give rise to speculation about Salah's future at Anfield, particularly after he claimed in December 2025 that he had been thrown 'under the bus' by Slot. His actions on Sunday only seem to highlight that all is not well.

Carragher Takes Aim at Salah After Liverpool Win
Jamie Carragher Sky Sports
Having likely seen Salah's reaction to the substitution, and having witnessed his poor performance against Forest, Carragher offered a scathing review of Liverpool's performance. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "That's one of the biggest robberies I've seen in the Premier League this season.
"[Substitute Rio] Ngumoha did more in 15 minutes than Salah and Gakpo did before that. He changed the game and needs to be starting games."
He went on to add: "There's no-one better in getting last-minute winners in the Premier League - and that is Liverpool."
Although Liverpool remain sixth in the Premier League table, a win means that they go level on points with Chelsea and Manchester United, who play Everton on Monday night. The Reds are back in action on Saturday 28th against West Ham United.
