8 Newcastle United summer transfer deals predicted as Man City and Roma stars arrive

Newcastle United are expected to be busy during the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United are still hoping to enjoy a successful end to what has been a difficult season by progressing in the FA Cup and the Champions League and pushing towards the European places in the Premier League.

Following Saturday’s narrow defeat at title chasing Manchester City, Eddie Howe’s men will turn their attention towards the second leg of their Champions League play-off round tie with Qarabag on Tuesday night after they romped to a 6-1 win in the first leg in Azerbaijan. There is another route to silverware still available to the Magpies as they are set to face Manchester City for the fifth time this season after the two clubs were paired in the FA Cup fifth round draw.

No matter what happens between now and May, there is a feeling Newcastle will have to refresh their squad during the summer transfer window and there have been reports suggesting a goalkeeper, left-back, midfielder and striker are all on their list of priorities. A number of current members of Howe’s ranks are also expected to be moved on as a busy summer is anticipated at St James Park - but what business could take place?

We take a look at how Newcastle’s summer transfer window could pan out with the help of AI tool ChatGPT.

Lorenzo Pellegrini - Roma

ChatGPT: “Newcastle have been linked with Roma’s Pellegrini as a creative and experienced midfield option. If Sandro Tonali or another midfield piece leaves, bringing in a proven Serie A playmaker would boost creativity and leadership in the middle of the park.”

James Trafford - Manchester City

ChatGPT: “Reports suggest Newcastle retain an interest in the Manchester City goalkeeper as a possible long-term successor to Nick Pope. Newcastle have tried to sign Trafford on a number of occasions and are expected to try their luck once again.”

Julian Ryerson - Borussia Dortmund

ChatGPT: “With long-serving right-back Kieran Trippier likely to move on this summer (contract situation and age), Newcastle are actively exploring replacements — and Ryerson has emerged as a target because of his attacking output and defensive versatility.”

Darwin Nunez - Al-Hilal

ChatGPT: “Newcastle have lacked consistent goal scoring since Alexander Isak’s departure, and the club has held talks with intermediaries regarding Núñez as he looks to leave Al-Hilal due to squad restrictions there. A return to the Premier League suits his profile and would address Newcastle’s need for goals and a focal point up front.”

Anthony Gordon - Arsenal

ChatGPT: “England international Gordon is linked heavily with moves to top clubs (including Arsenal and Liverpool) as they look to overhaul their attacking options. If Newcastle miss out on Champions League qualification, they might sell to reinvest.

Kieran Trippier - Everton

ChatGPT: “The experienced defender is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with moves away from Newcastle. Eddie Howe has discussed a possible new deal but Trippier could decide to move on.”

Joe Willock - Crystal Palace

ChatGPT: “Several Premier League clubs have been linked with willingness to sign him, including bids reportedly from clubs like Fulham and Crystal Palace during the January window. That suggests genuine external interest that could resurface in the summer.”

Will Osula - Stuttgart

ChatGPT: “Given his age and long-term development needs, Osula may prefer consistent playing time rather than short cameos off the bench. Moving to a club that can offer more starts — particularly in a competitive league like the Bundesliga — would help his growth better than being a peripheral option at Newcastle.”
